Albert Thomas Bayley

Albert Thomas Bayley, beloved and doting husband, father and grandpa passed away Tuesday evening, May 30, 2023, with his family loving by his side.

Al was born on June 8, 1945, to Margaret and Samuel Bayley in Darlaston, England.  Al always had an entrepreneurial spirit, having started his first business at the age of 15 washing windows and selling potatoes in his local community.  He would later attend University in England and participate in an internship which launched an amazing mechanical engineering career, allowing him to travel the world and provide many opportunities for his family.  He was a brilliantly minded engineer who was known throughout his industry and at home as a man who could fix, engineer, and invent anything to accomplish the task at hand. 

He married his soul mate, Wendy Bayley, who he met at the age of 10 in a local park in England. They had a beautiful life together of 53 years, including doting on their three daughters. They enjoyed traveling throughout Europe together in their youth.  In 1982, Al and Wendy made the bold decision to move to the United States to take advantage of an engineering opportunity Al was offered. It was a courageous move that ultimately changed the trajectory of the Bayley family and provided Al and Wendy’s three daughters with many opportunities they may never have had, had the family remained in England. When Wendy became ill with cancer, Al never left her side and was a constant source of strength as she fought the illness for over 13 years, before losing her battle. In later years, Al was lucky in love for the second time to meet and marry his wife, Susan. For the last nine years they have enjoyed traveling to various international destinations, sharing stories while sipping wine on their back patio and were absolute “foodies” who loved to explore and try new cuisines.

Al will be remembered as a kind, generous and brilliant gentleman. He loved telling stories of his adventures as a young engineer. He loved his family fiercely, was exceedingly proud of his daughters, and completely enamored with his grandchildren. Al will be terribly missed by his wife, Susan, his three blessed daughters, Ashley, Annalese and Courtney, and his grandchildren, Ava Margaret, Audrey Joyce, John “Jack” Scott, Parker Wendy, Olivia Dee, Elle Kimberly and Carter Timothy James. Al is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Samuel Bayley, his wife, Wendy Bayley, and his brother Samuel Bayley.
