Obituary

Judy Lyn Finder, age 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 1, 2019, after a 5-year battle with cancer.

Funeral Service: 1 pm Friday, at Cowboy Church of Ellis County with visitation to start at 12 noon. Burial: Skyvue Memorial Gardens.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Judy’s honor to Stand Up To Cancer. https://standuptocancer.org/

She was born on February 11, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas to Patrick A. D’Orlando and Mamie Alice Morris. Judy attended Flour Bluff High School, class of 1967, in Corpus Christi. She had two children by her first marriage, Mandy Tucker and Larry Stonecipher, Jr. She met her loving husband, David Finder, in 1990 and they married on February 19, 1994. Judy loved her family and friends deeply, cherishing every moment together. She spent so much time and effort being there for her grandkids and great-grandkids to create special memories. Judy lifted everyone up even when she was down. She would light up the room and never knew a stranger. Judy showed such love for others and had an amazing ability to connect with everyone she met. Judy worked for Bassham Foods for over 28 years and loved the Bassham family and her co-workers dearly.

Judy was a faithful Christian attending the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie. She loved attending church and meeting weekly for fellowship, prayer and Bible study with her Connect Group.

Judy was preceded in death by her son, Larry Dean Stonecipher, Jr.; sister, Jenny Louise Moran; mother, Mamie Alice Williams (Morris); father, Patrick Anthony D’Orlando, and wife Cecilia “Smitty” D’Orlando.

Survivors: Her husband of 25 years, David Finder; daughter, Mandy Tucker and husband Matthew; grandchildren, Reagan Tucker, Avery Tucker, Justin Stonecipher and wife Shay, Adam Sneitzer and wife Liza and Jarrett Pyle; great-grandchildren, Mason Stonecipher and Maren Stonecipher; step-sister, Betty Fairchild; and niece Michelle Gaumond and family.

The family would like to thank Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, Texas for providing support and care during Judy’s final days.
