Jack Carl Smith, 87, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Baylor All Saints Vitas Hospice Care following a brief illness. He was born July 13,1932 in Fort Worth, TX, to the proud parents of the late Earl Van and Lula Kathryn Smith. He was the second born of 7 siblings. He married Helen Ruth Taylor in his early twenties and within this 23 years of marriage 3 children were born (Renae, Meryl, and La’Shawn). He started working at an early age to help support his parents with the younger siblings. He worked two to three jobs at a time as a paperboy, The Pig Stand Store, and restaurant cook. He was known for making good Milkshakes and Malts! After he got older and married he worked as a delivery man for local Dentists delivering dentures and teeth impressions. One day while he was delivering some impressions, God blessed him to meet one of the Dentists’ he delivered to that changed his life and career path. The Dentist asked him a question that only someone with the skills of a Dental Technician would know. Little did he know Jack was an “Jack of all trades” and answered it correctly. From that day forward Jack started the path of a Dental Technician to gaining his Certification in Dentistry. He worked as a Certified Dental Technician until the early 90’s when he retired from Henderson Laboratory at the time located in Fort Worth, TX. Jack’s pass time for relaxation was spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, coaching and mentoringthe children in the neighborhood. He coached the Eastside Little League Baseball team and lead them to 1st place championship in the late 70’s. He is survived by his 3 loving kids Carledria Renae Washington and companion Leon, Minister Meryl Smith and wife Mia, Helen La’Shawn Jones and husband Errol, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren 3 sisters Earlene Parks, Sandra Kindle, Kathryn Conway, Etta Carey long term companion and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Want to tell you I am sorry for the passing of your dad. i remember when your mom passed , I told you I was sorry for your loss, you reminded me she wasn't lost because you knew right where she was. Well I am sure the same goes for your father. I know you will miss him as I miss mine but we can rest assured we know where they are and we will see them again. Love you brother and if you want to share some memories let me know.
