Obituary

Dickie “Lee” Morton, 67, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 26, 2020. Services will be held for family at Skyvue Funeral Home.

Lee was born February 23, 1953 in Chariton, Iowa. He married Mary Margaret Priest on October 9, 1982 in El Cajon, California, and the family moved to Mansfield Texas in 1986. Lee was a loyal employee of Mouser Electronics for 35 years, and also served as President of the Mansfield Adult Softball League and as a member of the Mansfield City Parks Board. Lee also served briefly as a deacon at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church before stepping aside due to ill health.

The family expresses its deep appreciation for the support and encouragement received from fellow church members, co-workers, neighbors, and friends as we traveled with Lee on his life’s journey. He suffered many physical ailments but with excellent medical care, persevered many years. Our special thanks to physicians David Podgurecki, Sneha Patel, B. Rai Mehta, Shantala Samart, and W. Amer Sardar for their love, care, and concern as they worked together to ensure Lee’s highest quality of life.

Lee’s favorite college team was Notre Dame, and in the spirit of the Fighting Irish, Lee fought the good fight and finished his course with courage to the end. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Mary, son Charles and wife Rosanna, son John and wife Shannon, and beloved granddaughters Gentry, Maddox, and Malone.

Lee and I met at Mouser Electronics in 1994 . We became friends instantly. We shared our life for over 20 years, our ups and downs. He was like a brother to me. We have had our disagreements but still remained good friends! Lee taught me how to be a great friend and I will miss him 💔.To Mary and family I know he loved you so so much and he will be missed .
Much love from Ron and Connie Sigo.

I worked at Mouser with Lee. I remember that he was always happy and smiling. It was always nice to just sit and talk with him. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers and he will be missed.

My condolences to the family. I would love to share some bible scriptures that can bring you comfort at this time and a wonderful hope of seeing your love one again. Acts 24:15” There is going to be a resurrection “. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4” Comfort when loved ones die” Hebrews 2:15” Freedom from morbid fear of death” John 5:28,29” A real hope of being reunited with your dead loved ones”. God is the Creator of life. The Bible calls Jehovah God “the source of life” (Psalms 36:9; Acts 17:24,25) The One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. Jehovah hates death, he views it as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has a longing to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again-Job 14:14,15.

Sincerely, Liz Wall
